For enclosed auto transport

For enclosed auto transport, cars to be transported are picked up from the point of origin with the help of enclosed hard sided trailers. The vehicles are lifted into the container with the help of hydraulic lift gates or power lift gates. These liftgates function like elevators keeping the vehicle still and horizontal during loading and off-loading. Even for an uneven loading surface, sufficient ...tilting of the liftgates ensures a safe and leveled loading. Besides, some auto transport companies such as CSL provides oversized ramp gates for safe loading of longer vehicles such as limousines and vintage vehicles. Once the vehicle is delivered to the point of destination, it is safely unloaded using similar liftgates. Auto transport companies provide door-to-door shipping too.

    How Much does it cost?

The cost of transporting a vehicle can vary widely depending on a number of factors. As a result, determining how much a particular car or truck will cost to move can be challenging. Obtaining quotes from a variety of sources is one way to estimate the costs of hauling or moving an automobile, but in general the main determining factors are:

     *Type of vehicle
    • The distance of the move
    • The size and/or weight of the vehicle
    • The mode of transportation for the automobile
    • The auto, truck or boat’s value
    • How many vehicles are being moved to the same location
    • Whether the vehicle is in running condition
    • Whether the vehicle is being shipped internationally
    • The care and attention the shipping company devotes to each car or truck it delivers

    Check List

    • Make sure that you have a complete set of keys for the auto shipping company, and a full extra set for yourself.
    • If you are transporting a classic, custom, rare, exotic, or otherwise expensive vehicle, go for the enclosed transport if you can… it will be worth the extra cost!
    • Clean your vehicle to ensure a proper inspection and clear documentation of your cars physical condition.
    • Check your battery to make sure it’s fully charged and securely mounted.
    • Check the obvious places for fluid leaks; oil, transmission fluid, etc.
    • Disable and or disconnect your car alarm.
    • Prepare your vehicle for it’s new climate; you might consider changing the oil, coolant, and possibly other fluids.
    • Remove and/or retract you car antennas.

    Slow Season/ Busy Season

Like so many other industries, there are seasonal highs and lows in the auto transport world. Certain routes are more or less busy during different times of the year. It is important that you know what seasons are better or worse for getting the best prices for auto shipping.
There are two main busy seasons for the auto transport industry: the summer season and the snowbird season. Nearly all routes operate at full volume during the summer season. This is our highest earning period of the year. If you’re looking for car shipping during the summer season, be prepared to pay more than you would during the off season. Availability during this period may also be limited along certain routes, so make reservations in advance to ensure a particular pickup date.
